“Long time, no blog. Jaz, where you been at?” Some may be asking, or maybe it’s just me. 🙊Either way, my blog has been silent for a bit for many reasons the biggest being; I was going through some things within. On the surface, I was good or so I said. But within, I was discouraged, hurting and facing some things that “helped” me to neglect this space.
I won’t go into details but I’ll say that I’m a big dreamer and I have big dreams for my life but I got a bit discouraged with not seeing the manifestation of those things. I graduated from college last December with a BA in Entrepreneurship yet, I’m doing anything but that. Or so I thought. (I’ll expound on that in a bit) All of that to say, I created this blog to encourage, inspire and even entertain a bit 😉 but for the past few months, I didn’t have it in me.
I was looking at what I perceived I didn’t have and I allowed that to get the better of me. But, NO MORE. How many of us are not doing what we went to school for or what we’re ultimately called to do? That doesn’t mean we won’t ever, right? In my case, I overlooked the fact that while I may not be ‘entrepreneur-ing’ full time, I am working and getting experience with working with others plus I have a few side gigs, #entrepreneurship.
I’ve taken some time to look at the bright side of things and to remind myself of all that I have to be grateful for, my God! I’m still breathing and as long as I’m alive, there’s always opportunity for more! Basically, the plan of God for my life is still in fact His plan—whether I’m walking in it today, tomorrow or 10 years from now! Also, there’s more to His plan for my life—and our lives—than just the thing we feel we’re called to do. His plans for us are bigger than us.
So, when I finally got over myself or over my current reality, I was able to see all the possibilities in my reach even in the midst of the seemingly impossibilities. From there, I’m able to move forward, to keep going. To press toward the mark to which God has called me to. Because staring at where I’m not at yet in fear of never getting there will not cause me to get there any sooner. But being grateful in the in between and praising God for what I do have and for what I do see, right now in this moment changed my perspective from ‘will I ever get there?’ to ‘Jesus, I’m not there yet but I know that You are faithful and I’m exactly where You want me to be for such a time as this!’
I don’t know what you’re going through right now but I do know that God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us and that He’s with us through it all! So, keep going! Just keep swimming and although you may not be where you want to be yet, thank God you’re not where you used to be! Every step you take and every time you choose to keep going, you’re a step closer to where God is taking you! #keepgoing
P.S. my blogs are back! Stay tuned for more to come! I hope this post encouraged you, I love you and I’ll talk to you soon! ❤️
